Best place to stay in Cuenca!”

Casa Ordonez

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Casa Ordonez! Alberto and his family are the most charming and accommodating hosts you can imagine. One morning my husband ordered a diet coke at breakfast, and much to our amazement, Alberto left the hostal and ran down the street for the coke! He and his sister speak fluent English, which is very helpful if you don't have a great command of Spanish. He recommended the most fabulous restaurants! This was our second trip to Cuenca, and we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. The rooms are clean and lovely, and it is such a treat to be among the many family antiques. You will thank yourself for booking a room here!

My friend and I were 3/4 through our 2 month South America trip, coming through Argentina, Chile, Peru to Ecuador when we stayed here. We had stayed in all kinds of places - B&Bs, iconic hostels and hotels. Casa Ordonez surpassed all of them. Even without the reliable and constant hot water or powerful water pressure or complimentary water or... more

Nice ambiance: Has an Old World Charm...The Service was excellent, Owner, Alberto goes out of his way to make sure you are satisfied...My room was clean; the bathroom was clean and there was plenty of hot water, with good pressure...The location was also very convenient to walking all around the old city. The breakfeasts were good, especially the coffee. Good... more

We stayed at Casa Ordonez for four nights during our honeymoon. The Ordonez family, who run the hotel, made us feel so welcome and at home. We spent most of our day traveling around with the owner's sister, Maria, sightseeing, shopping and visiting the beautiful Cajas. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and the staff are extremely attentive. more

I cannot begin to describe the fantastic experience we had at Casa Ordonez. We stayed there a total of 7 nights, with a trip to Banos in between. From being met at the airport by Alberto and Jorge to Abuelita's cure for my daughter's stomach problems, we were treated more as friends than customers. We stayed in two different rooms... more

From the moment we walked in the door of this place we were treated like long lost friends by the owners, customer service is better than excellent!! The property has been in the family for a long time, and has been recently carefully and lovingly restored to cater for guests. I would doubt you could find more accomodating people in... more

Four of us - two 60-ish y.o. American couples, recently spent 4 nights at Casa Ordonez. Wonderfully personal hospitality. Authentic, charming, handsome design and decor - beautifully restored. Spotlessly clean. Location is convenient. Hosts - Albert, Maria Ordonez and their mother - very friendly and warm and helpful, but not at all intrusive - they, and the small staff -... more
